Providence is calling a Unit Secretary (Full-Time/Night Shift) at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro in San Pedro, CA
We are seeking a Unit Secretary who will attends nursing station and perform clerical and reception duties. Requisitions supplies, equipment, and services as directed.
In this position you will:
Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, unit statistics; patient/customer safety, improving organization performance program, environmental and infection control standards
Prioritize work and provides prompt and efficient service.
Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services, and prepares related forms. Keep stock and equipment inventories
Perform clerical duties related to procedures such as admission and discharge, also prepares charts
Keep patient records current
File information, and answers the telephone, takes messages, and directs calls
Maintain a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families accordance with hospital standards
Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
Maintain department records, reports, and files as required
Participate in educational programs and in service meetings
Qualifications:
Required qualifications:
Completion of medical terminology course or equivalent educ/experince
Skills/ Office Electronics: Calculator or 10 key, FAX machine, Photocopier
Unit Secretary – PHC
Word Processor, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Average to good keyboard skills
Ability to: Answer telephones, Maintain filing systems, Maintain logs, Maintain patient charts, Schedule appointments
