Providence Health & Services Lead Cook in San Pedro, California

Description:

Providence is calling a Lead Cook (part-time/variable day shift) to Little Company Of Mary San Pedro Hospital in San Pedro, CA.

In this position you will:

  • Perform lead role in overseeing work of Cooks, Grill Cooks, and Food Service Workers.

  • Prepare, season and cook food for hospital patients, employees and visitors.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Food Handlers or Serve-Safe Certification

  • Minimum one (1) cooking experience in large scale, healthcare, or similar institutional food service

  • Knowledge of cooking methods/procedures, including types of preparation and related routines

  • Ability to read recipes and formatted menus

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-tasking

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate's Degree related field or culinary school

  • Coursework/Training in Advanced training in culinary systems and practices
